Why Justice?

Why Justice

Globally, one billion people live in oppressive slums, surrounded by extreme desperation and crime, and more than forty million people are trapped in slavery.

JVI partners with local organizations and global stakeholders to bring freedom, justice and restoration to men, women and children suffering from human trafficking and other forms of extreme injustice.

Justice is essential to ensuring a prosperous and fair society for all. Our vision is to see unjust communities transformed into communities ordered according to God’s standard of love.

Our Target Areas

Human Trafficking
Over 45.8 million men, women, and children are held in various forms of slavery, including sex trafficking, debt slavery, forced marriage, and other forms of trafficking. Every year, more than 2 million children are exploited in the global commercial sex trade. The total market value of illicit human trafficking is estimated to be in excess of $32 billion. (U.N.) JVI strengthens ventures that bring rescue and restoration to human trafficking victims and accountability to offenders.

Urban Poverty
Approximately one billion people worldwide live in slums, without access to decent housing, electricity, sanitation, work, or education- this figure will likely grow to 2 billion by 2030. JVI strengthens ventures that empower children, women, and men that live in slum communities.

Other Vulnerable Groups
JVI strengthens ventures that promote justice for marginalized groups that suffer from extreme forms of injustice. Examples include religious minorities, prisoners denied their right to trial and held in overcrowded prisons, and scheduled castes and tribes in India.
